You are putting yourself at risk for potentially high medical costs and needs, as well as costly medications- resulting in possible foreclosures, evictions, and even bankruptcies.
Did you know that you cannot obtain health insurance whenever you wish?

There are Open Enrollment dates that must be followed to secure health insurance
Annual Open Enrollment for individual/family plans on or off the marketplace:
November 1st – December 15th each year to secure January 1st coverage.
December 16th – January 15th each year to secure February 1st coverage.
Outside of the above times, you cannot get insurance coverage unless you had or will have a qualified event in last 60 days or less.
Examples – Loss of other health insurance coverage – due to reasons other than termination for non-payment.
Loss of health insurance coverage due to:
Change of jobs or loss of job
Divorce
Marriage
Birth of child
Employer Plans: Open Enrollment dates vary by employer, so you will have to adhere to those timelines of the employer.
New jobs usually have a waiting period of up to 90 days for some employers to get access to benefits. Not all employers offer health insurance and/or benefits.
Those who choose to take risks of being uninsured by not having health insurance, it affects more than just their physical health, also affects the health of their gums, teeth and of course our finances. When we are not taking care of ourselves it can become hard to focus our jobs and manage things at home as well…. all of which can create a lot of stress in our everyday lives.
